Chakra Natures

a chakra nature is referring to a ninja's elemental capabilities. they manipulate the elements in techniques such as with ninjutsu to get the upper hand in some sort of way. although it is not required to learn new chakra natures, it is a good idea to be in the possession of one to utilize certain jutsu.

Each chakra nature comes with a strength and weakness. in combat, remembering the elemental strength/weakness cycle will help with getting ahead of someone. so, if i am using fire release ninjutsu against someone who is using wind release, it might be safe to say that i've got the edge against them. of course, a jutsu of a higher ranking can still get the upper hand even if it is of the opposite element.

fire release (katon) - strong against wind // weak against water.
water release (suiton) - strong against fire // weak against earth.
wind release (fuuton) - strong against lightning // weak against fire.
earth release (doton) - strong against water // weak against lightning.
lightning release (raiton) - strong against earth // weak against wind.

gaining a new chakra nature:

• first element: 10 ninja points
• second element: 30 ninja points
• third element: 50 ninja points
• fourth element: 70 ninja points
