nothing out of the ordinary
welcome to the ninja story
Time has brought on change to the world. Although the structure seems to be the same, not much of anything else is. This universe is not the same as the one we know so well, that is the truth. And, to shape it into the form we desire, we need to take action. Jump into the action and see to it that our ninja stories continue.

academy student the future of ninja academy students are mainly composed of the villages' youth who are training to become exceptional shinobi. they train daily at the academy of the village they reside in and study the lessons given by assigned instructors. because they are simply students, these future ninja are not considered shinobi and do not participate in the same activities as ordinary ninja. academy students are in the process of learning and mastering the basics of shinobi lifestyles, techniques, and etc. this rank is optional to take. starting out as an academy student does make way for better plot development for a character, allowing for more expansive growth. however, taking on the role of an academy student means that a character begins with absolutely nothing and has more limitations to what is available. take note that all villages possess academy students. academy graduation exam - this program is available to all academy students seeking to graduate from the ninja academy. each village has an identical program, though they all have their own requirements. what exactly goes on in the academy graduation exams is completely up to the village leaders, or staff if there are no appointed kage/head ninja. so, in the case that there is no village leader to create an exam for graduating from the academy, here is the default program that characters can turn to. note: if a village leader has passed away or left the village and there is a graduation exam present, that exam remains in effect until a new leader is decided. graduation exam details- academy students must learn all e-rank (academy) jutsu.
- academy students must fulfill all conditions set by exam proctor.
once all of these conditions have been met, the student must report to the village leader's office or to the admin in order to receive the promotion to genin. additionally, these bonuses are distributed to graduates. 1) 5 d-rank jutsu 2) village forehead protector 4) access to d-rank and c-rank jutsu, missions, and shop items. some more things to know about academy students... 1) academy students can only learn academy jutsu. 3) academy students are prohibited from going outside the village. 4) academy students may only participate in e-rank missions.

genin are considered the bottom of the barrel in the shinobi force. apart from academy students, this rank is the lowest rank a ninja can have. it is one of the two ranks members can choose to begin their adventures at. but, starting as a genin does not grant the graduation bonuses from academy student. genin are still rookies who are learning to become skilled shinobi, and they have much to learn about the shinobi world. it is nothing to be discouraged by. there is much growth for a character's personal development that can be gained. the journey ahead will surely be a pleasant one. genin teams are put together for the low level ninja of each village and are led by a ninja who is, at least, chūnin rank. depending on the village leader, it may not be mandatory to be in a team. chūnin exams - all genin are allowed to participate in these exams to promote to the rank of chūnin. the exams are composed of a series of trials, which are created by village leaders. they may be either joint exams with other villages, or they are held by individual villages for their own shinobi. the village leader or an appointed staff member will be responsible for what goes on in the exams as soon as it is time for them to begin. it is possible that each exam will be different from the other in various ways. this is one option for promoting from genin. promotion alternative - an alternative is available to characters wishing to be promoted from genin. for those who do not participate in the chūnin exams, here is what can be done for your character... 1) genin must have learned all academy jutsu. 2) genin must learn 5 new d-rank techniques and 3 c-rank jutsu. 3) genin must complete 5 d-rank missions and 3 c-rank missions. 4) participate in 3 social threads with another character (excluding npc). report to the village leader after all conditions have been met. below are bonuses granted to the newly promoted shinobi. 1) flak jacket. 2) access to b-rank missions, items, and techniques. 3) leadership to a team of 3 genin. 4) permission to venture outside village, unless stated otherwise by village.

chūnin are shinobi who have matured and further honed their skills. they surpass genin and academy students in rank, and typically skill, too. it is after that exciting promotion that the ninja becomes a real ninja. this is the rank where the real fun begins during the journey. freshly promoted shinobi are finally able to test their abilities as future leaders. although, the life of a middle ninja is no easy one with all the responsibilities coming forth. chūnin who have met the appropriate conditions may be promoted to the rank of jōnin, or they may be promoted to the rank of tokubetsu jōnin by the village leader. there are no specific exams required for either of these promotions, though a village leader may consider the idea. promotion to tokubetsu jōnin1) chūnin must learn 5 c-rank jutsu and 4 b-rank jutsu. 2) chūnin must complete 5 c-rank missions and 3 b-rank missions. 3) participate in 4 social threads with another character (excluding npc). promotion to jōnin1) chūnin must learn 5 c-rank jutsu and 5 b-rank jutsu. 2) chūnin must complete 5 c-rank missions and 4 b-rank missions. 3) participate in 5 social threads with another character (excluding npc) promotion bonuses - tokubetsu jōnin1) access to a-rank missions, items, and jutsu. 2) leadership of 3-man teams. 3) permission to venture outside village.
promotion bonuses - jōnin1) access to a-rank and s-rank missions, items, and jutsu. 2) leadership of platoons and automatic consideration for village leader position. 3) permission to venture outside of village.

tokubetsu jōnin the warrant officers tokubetsu jōnin are elite shinobi who have developed their skills in one or two particular areas rather than being skilled all-around. they may devote their experience to interrogation, or mastering a single elemental art. it varies from person to person, but they are indeed elites. special shinobi such as these are capable of joining the anbu black ops as operatives, but not as anbu captains. The shinobi who have done their best to come this far have certainly made an impression on the village. they are trustworthy in the eyes of the citizens and village leader. within the village, these ninja have gained more authority and are considered superior to the lower ranks in more ways than one. but that is not even close to being the end of the journey. there is still much to accomplish. promotion to jōnin1) must learn 5 b-rank jutsu and 5 a-rank jutsu. 2) chūnin must complete 7 a-rank missions. 3) participate in 4 social threads with another character (excluding npc). promotion bonuses - jōnin1) access to s-rank missions, items, and jutsu. 2) leadership of platoons and village leader consideration. 3) permission to venture outside village.

jōnin the high elite ninja jōnin are elite shinobi who are in a class of their own. they freely operate within the village, as well as from the outside. these ninja are highly skilled and are, basically, the best a village has to offer and can command those who are below them in rank. within the village, these ninja have gained more authority and are considered superior to the lower ranks in more ways than one. but that is not even close to being the end of the journey. there is still much to accomplish. jōnin may take on missions of any rank, but it is only the experienced that dare challenge s-rank missions. those are still considered dangerous to even the most skilled. it is also ninja of this rank that operate within the anbu as captains, leaders of assassination and tactical squads.

anbu special assassination and tactical squad the anbu black ops is a secret organization that operates under the village leader's direct command. it is composed of highly trained ninja who specialize in assassination and tactical operations; thus, it is a deadly group to be reckoned with. it is made available to characters who have successfully been promoted to the rank of tokubetsu jōnin. although, as far as the anbu goes for ninja of that rank, acting as an operative within the assassination sqauad is the only option available until being promoted to a higher rank. anbu captains are appointed as soon as ninja have been promoted to the rank of jōnin. these individuals are put in charge of small anbu squads and distribute commands to subordinates. it is essential that anbu members keep their identities secret from any public entity, excluding the one they serve, for it puts the security of the village at risk. exposure of one's identity will lead to immediate termination if found out. anbu uniforms are gifted immediately to those who join the force. these items are available only to anbu, but can be given to others if unwanted. uniform items: - anbu mask
- anbu sword
- anbu vest
- anbu shin and wrist guards
- anbu shoes
- anbu tactical cloak
jutsu available only to anbu - can be taught to others - temporary paralysis technique
- time reversal technique
additionally, there are some missions that can only be accessed by anbu operatives. these are created by the leaders of villages and are generally high risk assassinations or spying operations. to find out how to join the anbu exactly, you will need to refer yourself to your village leader.

sannin legendary three ninja the sannin are ninja who have proved themselves to be shinobi of profound skill. they have been recognized as the best ninja of their time; thus, being granted a special title. their skill is, in short, legendary and are on par with very few others. not everyone possesses this kind of skill. only three ninja can be named a sannin. not three per village... three ninja. period. the ruling, over time, may change, but that is how it goes for now. ninja must do whatever they possibly can to become a sannin and prove themselves to as many as they possibly can, namely the village leaders. there is not necessarily much to becoming a sannin. but, all requirements are to prove worthiness. eligibility requirements1) the ninja in question must be at the rank of jōnin. 2) the ninja in question must earn the approval of the leader of at least 2 hidden village leaders. 3) the ninja in question must complete 3 plot threads. 4) the ninja in question must have learned a minimum of 30 jutsu. each plot thread is given a special prompt that needs to be fulfilled in order to move onto the next. a staff member given the power to do so will provide the member with the appropriate information to get started. while it is important to have the approval of your own village's leader, that is not enough to qualify you as a legendary ninja. someone who is legendary has a face recognized by those outside of the village, too. so, interacting with other villages at any point in time is essential to becoming a sannin. these encounters must be frequent, too.

village leader kages and head ninja each hidden village has a leader of some kind - an individual whose duty is to carry out the will of the people. these village leaders are generally powerful figures on the face of the shinobi world, and they should be considered incredibly skilled. however, in this period of time, there are only head ninja who lead the hidden villages. they operate just like the kage we know so much about, but they are not as influential in the world and do not lead any of the 5 great nations. still, that does not mean they are not powerful. in fact, any head ninja can surpass a kage in might, mind, and strength. it just depends on the individuals. a kage, like a head ninja, is the leader of a hidden village. their duty is to protect their village and the citizens residing within the village. leadership is the primary focus, but so is security for the people. both positions are vital and require only the most dedicated and skilled. the title of kage becomes available to ninja as soon as their village has become one of the 5 major villages. both kage and head ninja have specific duties that they must follow in order to push their villages through to the top. how they handle the job is entirely up to them. that means that their actions can greatly effect a village in a positive way or a negative way. there are a few ways to become the kage or head ninja of a village: 1) undergo the poll election process - takes place when a village is lacking a leader. 2) overthrow the current kage/head ninja using any method. 3) open ranks - beta stage only.

other ranks villagers, rogue ninja, wandering ninja the usual ninja ranks are wonderful and all, but not everyone is interested in having them. and so, we have two other ranks to bring up. wandering ninja, or ronin, are individuals who might not consider themselves to be ninja. actually, they might be samurai from the land of iron who hold standards separate from that of a ninja. or, the ronin is simply a citizen of a village who prefers not to affiliate with shinobi activity. these wanderers go wherever it is they wish to go without having to worry about getting permission, regardless of rank. however, they still need to follow other village policies when visiting a village. shinobi and other individuals who have committed themselves to acting out criminally are regarded as missing-nin, or rogue ninja. these branded criminals engage in illegal activity and are constantly sought after by authorities. of course, through their own methods, they can avoid imprisonment and still wander the world. however, the more crimes committed by a missing-nin, the more wanted they become in the bingo book. the punishments they receive vary from rank to rank, but are ultimately determined by the village leaders. villagers are people who do not follow the customs of ninja, much like the wanderers. those who fall under the villager category may not participate in missions, unless a shinobi invites them to do so.it is possible for a villager to possess jutsu and clan kekkei genkai, but it is not expected of them to utilize these skills for village defense. ranks inside the ranksmissing-nin and ronin are not classified as genin, chūnin, or jōnin. rather, they go by letter ranks. this helps determine if they are worth the trouble, or not. but, even if they do not go by the usual titles, they are still paralleling. e-rank missing-nin/ronin: on par with academy students. d-rank missing-nin/ronin: on par with genin. c-rank missing-nin/ronin: on par with chūnin. b-rank missing-nin/ronin: on par with tokubetsu jōnin. a-rank missing-nin/ronin: on par with jōnin. s-rank missing-nin/ronin: on par with other high-ranking shinobi. below is a section on ranking up within the ranks of ronin and missing-nin. something you might notice is that there are fewer requirements than ordinary ninja ranks (technically). e-rank d-rank - default rank - if not wanting to start at e-rank
- complete 5 d-rank missions // 5 crime missions (rogue ninja)
- 3 social threads with another character (excluding npc).
c-rank - complete 5 d-rank missions and 3 c-rank missions // 8 crime missions (rogue ninja)
- 4 social threads with another character (excluding npc).
b-rank - complete 7 c-rank missions and 5 b-rank missions // 12 crime missions (rogue ninja)
- 5 social threads with another character (excluding npc).
a-rank - complete 8 b-rank missions and 6 a-rank missions // 14 crime missions (rogue ninja).
- 6 social threads with another character (excluding npc)
s-rank - complete 10 a-rank missions and 8 s-rank missions // 18 crime missions (rogue ninja).
- 8 social threads with another character (excluding npc).
